Testing the can stove without the fan 16 oz of water at 62º
took 12 minutes and 110 grams of fuel. Add the fan with same
water and fuel.
Boil time was 7 minutes and 90 grams of fuel. Fun but I don't
think it is worth it.

I was wrong on the 13th when I said I had no queen.
Brood in the center and the Queen upper middle with abdomen pointing
toward 11:00 o'clock. Capped honey on the bottom.
Again brood in the middle and capped honey on the bottom. Bulging
yellow caps on brood and white flat caps on the honey.
First guess is the brood is 1200 strong now.

Out of some of the scrap that was in the trailer I made over 100 board
feet and some fire wood for the shop.
__________________________________________________________________________________________
8/14/2011
All cleaned up. The slash that will be fire wood is moved and the
trash went to the burn pile.
4 x 10 Timber 16' 6" long close to 500 lb.
Balance its all about balance.
So the Doc says " Do you exercise regularly? " Uh no. You mean
like lift weights and stuff?
Very nice beams. This was trash and I will get another couple of
hundred board feet out of it by careful cutting.
No
need for Botox to remove wrinkles we have bees. __________________________________________________________________________________________
8/13/2011
Click on picture. No Queen. No brood. Just honey and
pollen. 12 days.

Day two. Finish up on the logs.
Fire wood.
End view of some of the wood. Random width, mostly 3/4 thick.
10, 12, 14, and 16 foot lengths. 1x3 for bats. 1x 6 through 1x10
for boards. Over 1200 board feet. Enough for a wall 10 ft
high by 120 ft.

Remember in June when I started the floor under the shed.
So now the steel girder is gone and the building is set back the was it
should be. Ready for stuff to go under it!
OK that sounds good to me.
Really pretty wood. Going to be a tank house.

A clean spot for the little car to live. When the little car is
not here, then it is "The western beer garden" for Dennis.

8/9/2011
Cleaned and sharpened a 52 inch saw for a trip into a downed forest.
Sharpened with a file and set by hand. Proof is in the cutting,
two people and all you do is pull.
My favorite, a matched pair. One of the girls immersed in her job.

So after 40 hours I could not wait any longer, I opened the queen
case and let her out into the hive.
She had many attendants, not many eating the candy out, only halfway
there. I was worried about the heat.

74 pounds of Squash
Shooting out of the cutter, just a blur.
Zucchini, Summer Squash (yellow and green) and Crookneck. All cut.
Now we let the sun do it's work.

There is a fir tree in there that
has to come out. So limbs come off, then the top
without hitting the roof. Now to put it out the hole without
hitting the roof. Now to move it to the log deck.
Top Bar hive early in the morning. Opening up after the first
month for a check.
These two combs look untouched from last month.
Two combs full of honey. No brood.
Note the zip ties, this was old comb used to attract the bees in the
trap and they have secured the comb. Two more full of honey, no
brood.
Two more combs, more honey and no sign of brood. Looks like we
lost the queen some how. The number of bees seems down as well.
After the inspection you can see they are not upset at all. Just
me.
